Why is quality content so important?

Do you want more people to trust your brand? Do you struggle to keep up with the demands of putting out quality content on a regular basis? The old adage that “content is king” has survived the years of marketing slogans for a reason. Content truly is king when it is done from a search-driven standpoint and is of quality nature. The other side of the coin is that putting out all of this content is difficult. Not only do you need to do keyword research, buyer personas, and a host of other challenges; you need to make sure that you are consistently generating new content.

In a recent study, it was found that over the past 12 months, the amount of content being created by businesses tripled! That is an astonishing jump in the amount of content that buyers can engage with. That being said, it doesn’t mean that buyers will be engaging with it. In the same study, it was found that only 5% of that branded content got 90% of customer engagements. There is a prevailing theory on why this is, the other 95% of content was not of high enough quality. The best case scenario is that this low-quality content simply doesn’t create buyer engagement. The worst case, however, is that it damages your SEO ranking, or worse yet, leaves a negative impression of your brand on the customer.
